Generating Key SSH V.2

> ssh-keygen -t dsa (at password prompt just hit the enter key for no password)
> scp id_dsa.pub user@192.168.x.x:/path/to/home (on local machine)
> mkdir .ssh (on remote machine if it does not exist)
> cd .ssh/ (on remote machine)
> touch authorized_keys2 (on remote machine)
> chmod 600 authorized_keys2 (on remote machine)
> cat ../id_dsa.pub >> authorized_keys2
> cd ..
> rm id_dsa.pub

To make this as quick and as painless as possible I will list the command required to get this installed. So open up a terminal as user root.

Type the following command:

yum -y install freenx xorg-x11-fonts-misc

** the above command will pull in all package dependencies and make sure all required files are installed in order to get freenx up and running. **

Now if you are running Fedora 9 / 10 you will have to temporarily disable selinux or the connection will fail.

setenforce 0

Step 1: Add the livna Repo

wget rpm.livna.org/livna-release-9.rpm ; rpm -ivh livna-release-9.rpm

Step 2: Add the Macromedia Repo

wget http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/adobe-release/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.no... ; rpm -ivh adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm

Step 3: Install Multimedia Applications

yum -y install gstreamer-ffmpeg gstreamer-plugins-bad gstreamer-plugins-bad-extras gstreamer-plugins-ugly flash-plugin libflashsupport

To install AIDE, using following command:

# yum install aide

To configure AIDE, customize the /etc/aide.conf to meet the requirements of the system. For more detailed information about the AIDE configuration file, please refer the man page of aide.conf.

To generate a new database and install it on AIDE system:

# aide --init
# cp /var/lib/aide/aide.db.new.gz /var/lib/aide/aide.db.gz

Flac to Mp3 Simplified for Linux

The script listed below takes arguments in the following fashion. either you can specify a single file name to convert or you can specify a wildcard as example 2 shows.
Example 1: Flac2Mp3 01-The Black Parade.flac
Example 2: Flac2Mp3 *.flac

To use this script just copy and paste the section below and to a filename Flac2Mp3 and the chmod+x Flac2Mp3

make sure that the (lame) package is installed if you using fedora / centos
